IN HONOR OF GRAND MASTER KWAN SUNG LEE

Grand Master Kwan Sung Lee was the founder of Lee's Tae Kwon Do Academy. He began his study of Tae Kwon Do over 50 years ago in Korea and held a 9th Degree Black Belt.

Grand Master Lee began teaching Tae Kwon Do at the Oh San U.S. Air Force base in Korea. His students were primarily U.S. Armed Forces personnel and their families. In 1975, Grand Master Lee opened his school in Louisville, Kentucky and has remained a prominent figure in the community ever since. Many students were with Grand Master Lee since the beginning; still teaching and learning, as a testament to his spirit, vision, & wisdom.

Grand Master Lee is survived byfive children, two have remained active in Tae Kwon Do throughout their lives. His oldest son, Master Chu Yong Lee, is a 8th degree Black Belt and Owner/Master Instructor at Lee's Tae Kwon Do Academy in Palm Beach Garden, Florida. Master Chang Yong Lee is a 8th degree Black Belt and is Owner/Master Instructor at the Lee's Tae Kwon Do Academy in Radcliff, Kentucky.

Grand Master Lee passed away in July of 2003, but his spirit lives on through the instructors and the students who continue to teach and learn.
